It's been a struggle, to be honest. I've been feeling sluggish. All I want to do is sleep and stay away from everybody in my house when they eat food because I'm on the full liquid diet and very bored with it. It's been hard to make my hydration goal, but I think I'll make it tonight. I'm gonna do crystal light. I'm also struggling with the Protein goal. I get half way to my protein goal by the end of the night. I walk for 20 minutes a day, but probably need to walk more. I'm trying to stay positive, but this week has been a real struggle. I hope next week gets better on the puree stage.

I completely understand. Day 4 through 7 were the most difficult abd emotional days for me, it was hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I made dinner for my family for the 1st time last night (I had done precooking and freezing for them) and that was rough for me. Managed not to cry but its not easy. Listen to your body and rest, you need it. We are healing and not eating. My surgery was 4/14 and I can say it does get better. All I can think about is wanting cream of wheat and cottage cheese but I'm trying to stay greatful that I could add yogurt and v8. You so got this, just take comfort in the fact that you are not alone and we are all here and going through it and ready to support eachother

If you have a hard time finding a crystal light flavor you tolorate you could also try cirkul. They have special bottles that fit cartridges and what’s good is you can adjust the intensity of the flavor. I haven’t ordered one yet because they are a bit pricey compared to my generic crystal light but early out after surgery that could have been a game changer when fluids were a challenge. My aunt is the one who turned me onto it. They sell them at bed bath and beyond but they have more to choose from and you get stuff free if you order direct on Their website.of course you can also adjust the intensity of the flavor of crystal light by just slowly adding Water if you want too. But it is something to keep in mind cause the flavors are different.

The hydration is so very important for energy and recovery. Just think every time you go pee you are flushing fat away that will never return. If you are able to have V-8 you can add unflavored Isopure to it for a whopping 25gm of quality Protein. The protein is what we need to heal tissues and maintain muscle mass. I love to nap but I set an alarm so I can stay up on fluids. My RNY was 4-5-22. Each week has been better. Increasing my walks helped with my sluggish feeling.

That is such a good idea, adding protein to v8!! Love it!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
