xtielynn reacted to DaisyAndSunshine in 7 weeks out, perfecting portionsI for one still don't get the concept of stretching of the pouch. You can eat as much as you can and sometimes may be little more. But you can't eat beyond a certain limit.
Let's say even if the pouch does get stretched, you're still not going beyond a certain calories threshold (unless your program is designed differently). Plus small pouch is temporary stuff. It will get stretched a little as your stomach heals. And it's a life long journey where we will have to learn how to control out instincts and majorly stay under certain limit, stretched pouch or otherwise.
That's just how my logic functions everytime I hear about pouch and stretch. I could be totally wrong but that is what I go by. End of the day I will have to control my mind for a successful life long WLS journey.

xtielynn got a reaction from GreenTealael in Embarrassing moments?!I just embarrassed myself hardcore at the gym and had to share it... in the hopes someone here can relate ?
Usually I’ll start out slow on the treadmill because it’s really difficult for me to pace myself on the elliptical. All the treadmills were taken so I decided to dive right in on the E. Set my time for 30 minutes and *thought* I was pacing myself pretty well with the water. At minute 26, I started to feel a little queasy so I stepped off to center myself and walk it off.
Then came the gagging. All I could think was WIPE DOWN YOUR MACHINE AND ESCAPE. Had a few false starts, thought I might be ok, then all the water I had drank in the past hour or so exited my body, luckily into a trash can. Not gonna lie, i felt immediate relief UNTIL I turned around and there was an older woman standing behind me with the most disgusted look on her face (can’t say I blame her.) I gathered myself, wiped down the machine, and made my way out. She was talking to a friend as I walked by so of course I have to assume she was telling her about my very private moment with the bin.
Going back tomorrow fully disguised in a shirt that says “just had surgery, might barf” or something.
Anyone else had gym/public fitness mishaps? Please tell me I’m not the only one ? -

xtielynn got a reaction from summerseeker in Mashed Cauliflower during puréed phase?I finally had some mashed, which I’ve always loved, and absolutely could not stand the smell or taste. Hoping I come back around to cauliflower in general as things progress! Buffalo sounds so good right now! -
xtielynn got a reaction from liveaboard15 in Did I overdo it at the gym?I’m excited to get back on my bike as well. I live in a neighborhood with a ton of hardcore cyclists so it’s a little intimidating haha
Thanks for the feedback. I’m going to have to break up with this overly enthusiastic trainer until I’m 100%. Everything just happened so fast lol

xtielynn reacted to liveaboard15 in Did I overdo it at the gym?if you damaged something or tore something you would know and be in pain. Me personally i wouldnt be doing heavy lifting for a couple months. As for everything else its great. I am 4-5 weeks out and i am going out for walks, using a stationary bicycle and waiting on my actual mountain bike to come back from the shop so i can start using it. I tried jogging yesterday but that did not work out too well with all my fat still bouncing around it was a little painful so i need to loose more fat before i start jogging or wear like a compression thing around my stomach

xtielynn reacted to ShoppGirl in Mashed Cauliflower during puréed phase?I didn’t think of it during the purée phase but I’m sure it’s fine. We were allowed to purée any food to the right consistency and it’s basically puréed cauliflower.
-
xtielynn reacted to Spinoza in Mashed Cauliflower during puréed phase?I pureed entire family dinners and definitely had some cauliflower in those with no problem at all. Hope it agrees with you - I looove cauliflower - just had some with my lunch!
-
xtielynn reacted to summerseeker in Mashed Cauliflower during puréed phase?I just could not eat cauliflower mashed on its own, it smelled so bad and looked vile but in with other things it was ok. TBH I preferred Broccoli.
-
xtielynn reacted to kcuster83 in Mashed Cauliflower during puréed phase?I didn't eat it during my pureed phase but I did during my soft phase.
I made cauliflower mac-n-cheese. I also made buffalo cauliflower in the air fryer. (no breading).
Both sat very well with me and were very good!

xtielynn reacted to xtielynn in Post-Surgery Infrared Sauna? Thanks, y’all! Very good point about the water! I’ll probably hold off until my 6 weeks post are up - just to be on the safe side. -
xtielynn reacted to I♡BypassedMyPhatAss♡ in Post-Surgery Infrared Sauna?I'm not familiar with infrared saunas, but I do know regular saunas can cause dehydration and electrolyte imbalance and lower your blood pressure. So I'd be cautious of going to a sauna this close to your surgery date.
-
xtielynn reacted to ShoppGirl in Post-Surgery Infrared Sauna?I agree I would wait until I was getting in an excess of 64 ounces of fluids.
-
xtielynn reacted to lizonaplane in Post-Surgery Infrared Sauna?I had to look this up because I'd never heard of it. The problem is, you're going to sweat, which is going to lead to dehydration, big time! You can't drink easily right after surgery, and it's very easy to get dehydrated even if you're just sitting around at home. It's the number 1 cause for re-admission after bariatric surgery. I would be very wary of doing this until I was SURE I was getting plenty of liquids in.

xtielynn reacted to suzannethemom in DAY 1 Pureed StageHooray, I finally made it to the puréed stage! So many choices that it was hard to decide. I had 1% cottage cheese with two teaspoons of puréed pineapple. My stomach did fine, but my head got a little dizzy towards the end. Probably a blood sugar spike. It was worth it! I’m going to try refried beans (runny) with cheese for dinner.
Today is three weeks from my sleeve surgery. I’ve only lost 10 pounds since my surgery, but 29 pounds overall. I can really feel the difference in my legs when we go for a walk and no more body aches. We walked a steep hill in our neighborhood yesterday and I didn’t have to stop to catch my breath. It’s weird because I look the same when I see myself in the mirror, but I feel thinner. I really thought that the weight was going to just “fall off” faster. I have to accept that this journey is going to take a while and I need to be patient.

xtielynn reacted to Jackierojaas in Sharp burning pain under bellybuttonI’m 4 days post op and on Monday i felt this really sharp burning pain on my right side but a bit under my belly button. It still hurts every time I get up from bed or a chair. Sometimes when I sit down too or do a movement that triggers it. Anyone else feel this?

xtielynn reacted to liveaboard15 in Leg soreness?Since my surgery on April 18th. The back of my calves and thighs have had pain. I walk alot around the house and such and never stay seated for a long time. But no issues. I bought compression stocking and they sucked and i returned them. I did not get blood thinner shots once i left the hospital.
-
xtielynn reacted to Queen ApisM in Leg soreness?I noticed right after surgery that my legs were super sore on even on short walks. Now, I wasn't exactly a marathon runner before surgery, but I also wasn't completely sedentary so it was really strange! It stopped after a few weeks. Not sure if that helps, but I wouldn't worry much since it is also achy soreness. I think surgery just takes a lot out of your body in ways you don't expect.

xtielynn reacted to ShoppGirl in Full Liquids?!My team didn’t have any limits on carbs or anything that early out. I strained cream of chicken soup after diluting it with milk or water and that was okay but you can buy prepared soups anywhere and strain any “chunks” out of them.
-
xtielynn reacted to liveaboard15 in Full Liquids?!you and i had our surgeries almost exactly. I had mine on April 18th. I moved onto full liquids right out of the hospital. Tho i have not had creamy soups yet. I have stuck with protein shakes, water, broths, and sugar free popsicles. One suggested the Cream of chicken soup. To mix with milk and ricotta cheese in a blender until it was thin.
-
xtielynn reacted to suzannethemom in Full Liquids?!The Wal Mart deli has really good pre-made soups. They are way cheaper than Panera soup, but just as good. I tried tomato bisque and cauliflower parmesan so far. I also made Campbell’s split pea soup and stored it in 1/2 cup servings. Honestly, I don’t care about low carb because I feel like I’m starving most of the time! My sleeve surgery was on April 12th.

xtielynn got a reaction from mlwoodall in Post Op Stomach InjectionsGood lord I hate these shots! My mom is staying with me and helping for now, but I don’t know how I’m ever going to get myself to do them on my own. So miserable.
