Painkillers

Recommended Posts

I was/ have been taking painkillers/ tablets since I had surgery. I was sleeved on Dec 20th so am not too far out.

My recovery was going well but I have started having pain on my right hand side of stomach since I got covid, this especially hurts if i move too quickly or if I sneeze.

Thank you for all of the advice, sadly for me it is COVID - I hadn't thought of crushing up paracetamol and that worked perfectly. My sister in law is also going to drop me off some of the kids Calpol so at least that is liquid. Fingers crossed it doesn't last to long!

Sorry you have COVID, but just wanted to say you should be fine swallowing pills. I took pills a few hours out of surgery. I had to take each one separately, but I had no choice since I have bipolar disorder and can't miss them. It will NOT mess up your surgery. If you have always had trouble swallowing pills, that's a different issue.

How soon after your sleeve did you start taking solid tablets again (eg. paracetamol, ibuprofen or acetaminophen?) - I am in agony and have run out of the liquid stuff but don't want to ruin my sleeve by taking something I shouldn't. I'm 7 weeks out.

I’m out 5 days and have been able to take anti acid soft pill and I took oxy a day after getting out of hospital for the discomfort while trying to sleep.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
