I had a rough start and just started feeling better too.
Are you having issues with intake ?

Hi, my surgery was on the 17th. Thankful I did it. Just had a follow up and excited to do puree food soon. Beyond over the liquid stage. Yet I do realize it is necessary!

I’m a few days away from that stage and I can’t wake to have something other than liquids

Had my surgery 12/15, recouping and still in pain. On the full liquid stage looking forward to the purée stage. Start weight 207, surgery weight 187, and todays weight 174. :) couldn’t be happier in starting a healthier 2022! Good luck everyone!

Yes!! I finally gave up trying to track. It was stressing me out way too much! I’ve also had diarrhea since day 10 :( I’m trying to focus on how I feel and listening to my body. ??‍♀️

Hi

I had my sleeve on the 20th Dec. I feel great and am two stone down already, including pre op diet. I am managing all fluid requirements and protein but hate the sweetness of the protein shakes so have now got some unflavoured to add to home made ones.
I am nervous to eat , not because I can’t, have had some puréed apple with no probs but so desperate to lose all my weight. I know I will need to eat to help with the weight loss and I will get my head round it but I’m in the uk and have paid for this op. Hubby was against it but as he’s a decent chap he is being ok but this has to work for me!
In the plus side I already feel better carrying less weight and am so excited to get my health and fitness back.

I had yo start doing my own thing.

It's actually working FOR ME. Plus I have a 2 y.o.

The lack of energy and pain was making me feel really sh..ty as a mom.

I honestly stopped doing what everyone on my team said and starting seeing how my body handled things.

It didn't help that the drs, 2 dietitians a d my pcp were ALL saying different things about how I should proceed.

I've missed my real food.

I'm glad I figured out how to help myself?.

The gas in the shoulder is still my nemesis as I have only tried chewable gas x

Yep that's how I felt.

The trying to track made it worse.

Me deciding to do my own thing is how I was able to (2) as their methods didn't help with constipation.

Hello everyone, I had surgery on12/09/2021, I was wondering if anyone broke out in hives 3 weeks after surgery, I did and now I am on steroids to suppress it. Please let me know if anyone broke out in hives, I have it all over my body even in my head. Wishing everyone good luck . Thank you

I did not, however I do break out in hives if I take amoxicillin. Hives are generally not a big deal but they do require finding out what the allergy is and treating it as you seem to be. Normally an antihistamine should do the trick as long as you remove the allergen. The hives could be food or medicine related and have nothing to do with the surgery itself. Like any allergy you may have to write down when the hives begin to show again and track what you are consuming. I also know most bariatric patients don’t realize that there is titanium staples left in your body for life. I believe there may be minimum nickel in the staples as well which can cause allergic reactions for some. Point being, even if you locate others who got hives after surgery, it doesn’t mean their hives are from the same source as yours. Hives are a common allergic reaction, unfortunately. Best of luck!

Are you already on the purée phase? I had surgery 12/17 and my doctor still has me on full liquids but I have snuck a few puréed foods in like applesauce and egg salad and ricotta cheese.

I agree, tracking is just like dieting, not sustainable. We need to learn to eat like normal ppl who make better alternate choices. Tracking in the past has worked for me, but only in the short term. I do not believe it’s a long term solution. It can be a good tool until one can learn to “eyeball” their intake in my opinion.

Oh no , I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time. I try to do my protein in the morning and another for lunch and with ice the colder the better . I keep 4 water bottles 16oz on my bed side so I know to drink those for the day. As far as diarrhea did you notify the doctor about it because they should of quested a stool sample to make sure there’s no bacteria.

This happened to me but just on my face but it was caused by over stressing my body and when I got anxiety it went away on it’s own. I heard it’s not uncommon. Hope it gets better
