Constant hunger?

Recommended Posts

So, I'm 11 days post-op and I'm stuck on the liquid diet for another week. I am constantly hungry. I was told this would fade - does it ever?

I'm having this problem too. I have been eating every hour or so. I have been told it will get better on solid foods. I'm 12 days post-op. It's really frustrating!

I have three weeks of post-op liquid diet and am almost two weeks through it. I'm allowed to have unflavored Greek yogurt, skyr, and sugar-free fat-free puddings on my "liquid" diet and I find those help a lot. Also, warm savory things help—phở broth, miso Soup, chicken broth. And the Fairlife nutrition shakes that taste exactly like chocolate milk seem to assuage my hunger.

It is better now than it was immediately post-op, for what it's worth.

Yes it definitely does. I was exactly where you are. It takes a couple more days and then you kind of won't notice it. Make sure you're getting enough Water too. I'm fairly sure the ghrelin is still running around in your system for a little while after surgery.

Thanks for the heads up. :) I have been drinking a lot of Water and making sure my Protein is within optimal range. Today I'm not hungry like at all, I wonder if it was just me pmsing or something.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
