Is it normal to have explosive diarrhea everyday after surgery? I'm still on the all liquid diet. I first thought it was dairy, so I cut that out. Now it's anything I eat, besides Water. I'm not nauseated. I'm scared to leave my house because when it hits, I got to go now. I'm not dehydrated. I'm getting in the water. Oh and I recently started getting dizzy spells.

most people have the opposite problem (constipation), but this isn't the first time I've heard about diarrhea. I wonder if you've developed an intolerance to something. It's not uncommon to become lactose intolerant after surgery - although for some it's temporary.

That's what I thought. I was surprised when it first happened, because I was totally prepared for Constipation. I thought about lactose, so I started taking a lactose pill before I ate, still happened. Then I went 2 full days without any dairy, still happened. It's just weird.

I had that during the liquid phase but once I got to soft foods, it's the opposite problem. My doctor pretty much said that if you're only putting liquid in, what comes out is going to be pretty similar. Sorry, gross I know!

Not that uncommon actually. My first bm after surgery was all liquid. Literally just ran out of me when I was walking (thankfully to go to the bathroom).. Whoosh! ! There was no warning & no clenching was going to stop it. A friend continued to have break through liquid bms (even when passing wind so be careful). Her surgeon actually suggested before her surgery that she purchase disposable knickers - very good buy.

Oh no, I have been close to that happening!! My new model is, don't trust a fart. I have become very close with my bathroom. I straighten up stuff, while waiting for this to pass. I'm just going to roll with it.

it can take up to a week. You don't have much in there.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
