3+ years post surgery diet help

Recommended Posts

I am 3 + years post op and have maintained my 90lb weight loss since then. I could really stand to lose 10 more lbs but have never been able to get it off.
My current diet consists of 70 grams of Protein, 3 cups of veggies, 2 Protein Shakes and sometimes a vodka soda Water.
Up my protein? I don’t eat carbs…maybe 20grams tops per day.

That doesn’t seem like much food at all. How many calories are you consuming? I stopped drinking Protein Shakes the week I began real food (week 8). I get all my nutrients in & hit my Protein goal every day by eating real food only. I don’t even take Multivitamins (haven’t since I was 8 months out).

If you’re not losing, you may be at your base metabolic rate. Have a look at some Dr Matt Weiner’s you tube videos on resetting your base rate. He has quite a few on this subject alone so you may have to work your way through the list of his videos.

I find his videos very straight forward. He has a book called a pound of cure & associated website which may be helpful too.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
