My sleeve is scheduled August 12th. I was afraid the hospital was calling me to cancel, but it was scheduling my preop labs and COVID test. Feeling very nervous.

Oh God, I never thought of that, where are you, I’m in uk, so fingers crossed for all of us

Oh I pray not another lockdown, not looking like it here in London tbh, over here it’s mainly the teens and early 20 year old getting it, and they started giving the vaccine to the 16 year olds now

is it bad in Texas ?

I just want to get this op done and move on, popping all my Vitamins daily and purchased little pots to make Soup !!

I got 10 days low fat, all I want to do is eat sweets and I’m not a sweets person, ate a chewy sweet earlier and broke a tooth 🦷 so that will teach me, now a visit and expense of dentist !!

How are all the early August surgeries going!? I had mine aug it’s 4th and I’ve seen so many with similar dates. Hope everyone is doing well pre op and post op. I’m still in major pain 3 days after..one specific incision is hurting a lot, but I’ve finally starting taking in more Protein Shakes and some sherbet etc. lmk how you guys are doing !

august 2nd- I haven’t hit my Water intake yet since being home. I either hit my Protein or come very very close. Pain is ok… there’s a pulling in my stomach of course when I stand and do things. I have one incision that has been giving me heck since surgery (it’s the most painful and most tender but gets better by the day). It’s my largest one.
also does anyone experience a squeezing feeling? The squeezing is stronger in the middle of the night so I wake up and start sipping water.

Hi,

I am scheduled August 23, 2021 for gastric sleeve surgery.

I’m both scared and excited!

I had Lap Band surgery in 2009 and lost 80lbs. I felt great and I loved the way I looked.

A few months back I had the Lap Band removed and over the past several years I’ve put on 50lbs between not going to the gym during COVID-19 and the extra weight makes it difficult to get around.

However I was just reading the thread on what you are looking forward to most after your surgery and I must say I was very encouraged by what I read!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
