Hello everyone. So I had gastric bypass 6 weeks ago today and I am still miserable! I get sick every time I eat. I can’t keep my Vitamins down. I have tried two different vitamins and both have made me sick. I do take omperazole everyday. I’m not sure what to do now, or if this is normal to still feel so bad after 6 weeks. At this point I’m regretting getting this done. If someone has some suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I would talk to the doctor. This week I will be at three weeks post op. I stopped the omperazole less than a week after because I found I didn’t need it. I only had two bouts vomiting and I think one was because I hated what I was eating and the other one was because I wasn’t paying attention and probably did not chew well enough. My biggest issue is that I am picky and don’t like ground chicken or ground turkey and I miss vegetables more than I could ever imagine. My experience could be a bit different because I had a revision for my sleeve because I screwed it up and gained on my weight back.

Good luck and I hope things get better for you soon

Have you considered vitamin patches. Apparently they don’t work for everyone but some who have issues with regular Vitamins try them.

contact your clinic. If you can't keep food down, there's a chance you could have a stricture. You're in the window for it (they usually occur 1-3 months after surgery - they're very rare after that)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
