So before I had surgery, I would often dream about eating things that I know I shouldn't eat. Deep fried foods, sugary foods, CARBS CARBS CARBS.

Now, almost 3 months post-op, I still have this often, only in my dreams I know I have had surgery and medically can't eat this stuff.

Does anyone else have this issue? Does it ever go away? I get so much anxiety from the dreams because even though it's a dream, I still feel like I cheated.

I think that's common with addictions. I dream about food occasionally. But more often, I dream I am smoking. I quit smoking in 1994 (i.e., 27 years ago), and I STILL have dreams where I'm smoking and feeling angry with myself because I'm smoking!

There was a period where I was dreaming of bread every night lol. I hadn't had it in ages, but I gave in and fit it back into my diet though I only allow myself 1 loaf of gluten free bread one week out of the month (I have a wheat allergy that developed after my surgery. I have to have gluten free bread). Now I don't dream of bread anymore lol.

When I used to do Weight Watchers I used to dream that I wasn't counting the points of what I was eating... Now that I'm counting calories, I have dreams that I am not counting the calories. I haven't had surgery yet, but I suspect I'll have similar dreams.

I have that dream on a regular basis! I'm eating food I know I shouldn't have and in large quantities. In my dream I know that I've had surgery and I feel very guilty about it. I'm always very relieved when I wake up and realize that it didn't really happen!

I don't do it often with food, but I quit smoking in 1999, and I still have dreams that I'm smoking all the time. The funny thing is, I have no desire whatsoever to smoke now and can't stand to be around it, and in the dreams I am always smoking "just part time" and I'm mad at myself in yhr dream for taking up smoking again. It's so weird!

Oh funny. I didn't read the replies, and now I see yours sounds quite a bit like mine! [emoji23]

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
