Until my surgery I'm on low carb, low/no sugar diet and eat the following when I get a sweet tooth. I imagine if you're that far out it should be fine for you too.

Plain No Fat Greek Yogurt (about a cup) with a few tablespoons of Natural Peanut Butter (2-4 tbsp....just nuts and salt as ingredients), some cinnamon, and a little honey and made a "dip" for my apples. It's sooooo good! I also imagine you could eat the "dip" as is too.

I also do a cup of Plain No Fat Greek Yogurt and mix in half to a full packet (the smaller ones) of the Hidden Valley Farms Ranch seasoning and dip my veggies in. Soooo good.

I also take a tub of sugar free cool whip and then add in a small packet of any flavor sugar free pudding mix and sometimes even add in some Lily's chocolate chips, various flavors. Mix it all together and put it in the fridge and eat what ya want in moderation.

As for chips, have you checked out the Quest Chips? Kind of expensive but really good! There;s also various brands and flavors of Parmesan Crisps out there. It's nothing but cheese and whatever spices/seasonings if any.

that early out I'd be still sticking to nutritionally dense things. The Quest chips that the above poster mentioned would probably fill the chip craving. I used to eat a lot of Greek yogurt when I had a sweet craving - sometimes regular, sometimes Carbmaster or Light & Fit - not sure if you like yogurt or not, though. Or sugar free pudding or sugar free Jello - I used to sometimes mix some Protein Powder in with my sugar free pudding to bump up the Protein. And I often put a dollop of light Cool Whip on my Jello.

I didn't eat popcorn until I was over a year out since it wasn't on my plan, but you'll be surprised at how much of that a person can put away, even after surgery. That's not very nutritious, either - well, other than it has Fiber.

I agree with @catwoman7’s recommendation to stick to nutritionally dense food. We eat such small portions while we are losing that we need to ensure that everything we eat is doing us the greatest good.

I’m a fan of fresh fruit for its natural sweetness & loads of Vitamins & fibre. Try making a vanilla chia pudding: milk, chia seeds & vanilla extract. The vanilla gives it a a slight sweet taste & you get Protein & fibre. Yoghurt was a go to for me as well. Also carrot & celery dipped in hummus is good - sweet & savoury. I used to sprinkle chunks of cucumber with sea salt - crunchy & salty. On occasions I’d go for a teaspoon of peanut paste.

Some plans advise to avoid popcorn so check with your team.

Personally, I’ve worked at getting rid of a lot of sweet foods out of my diet cause it was a bit of a dangerous thing for me. But that’s me.

I was advised against popcorn and tried it anyway... and it made me sick! Its the only thing that's made me sick thus far, regretted it immediately! Cucumber and sea salt sounds like a good idea for my salt craving! Thanks!

I'm still waiting for my surgery, but have you tried parmesan crisps? I'm someone who craves more salty/savory and they can really hit the spot sometimes. My favorites are everything bagel flavored from costco or Amazon. Only 160 calories for 19 crisps, 1 gram of carbs and 16 grams of protein!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
