My surgery is scheduled 4/8. I'm excited but, also super nervous [emoji27]. What are you guys packing for the hospital? Are ya'll stocking up on liquids (broth and protein shakes etc.) now?

Mine is April 19! On day 5 of the 3 week liquid diet. Not fun

Mine is April 30th. I was not told how long to do pre-op diet. How long did y'all do the dreaded liquid diet?

Congrats! I'm guessing that your program will inform you soon about how long your pre-op diet should last and their specific guidelines for that diet. There is a huge range reported by folks on here. Some folks reported that their program advised them of a specific diet for just a day or two while others are one week, two weeks, or I've even seen some reporting three weeks. Plus, the guidelines for each diet varies a lot also. Each surgeon/program seems to have their own recommendations.

April is here!!! Mine is 4/28. I can't believe I only have 25 days. It's coming up quick. I'm so nervous and extremely excited. What's everyone packing for the hospital?

My surgery in 4/9, starting day 6 of protein drinks....5 more days to go.

Same here. I'm on full liquid diet. First couple days, nothing. I didn't feel constipated either I just hadn't had a BM. I have been drinking couple oz of light prune juice in the morning and evening. That's helped, at least I go once a day. My dr also said milk of magnesia would help. Not sure if that's something you can drink.

I used the chewable Senokot. Two at night. BM happened in the morning. Woohoo! And again the following morning. Woohoo! But, nothing this morning. So, I will give it a shot again tonight. Just trying not to go into surgery already constipated since I know I have that to look forward to after surgery. Hahhaha. Not trying to start that off early. Hahhaha

Hey all! I had my Gastric Sleeve on the 1st of April. currently 2nd day at home, things are going well so far! I'm so excited for you guys! ?

Scheduled 4/6.. only had to do 3 day preop. I stocked up on liquid protein, sugar free jello, popsicles, broth, and Gatorade for the post op liquid diet, which is 1 week for me.

Wow! Only 1 week liquids post op? Then purées? How long do they estimate until you can eat non-soft foods?

They said 3 weeks of purée diet following the 1 week liquid.

Did you have serious vomiting after? I’ve heard some pretty bad horror stories.
