  1. My surgery date was also April 6th. Are you tracking calories by chance, logging your food, etc? Also, for me I see progress when I’m being good with my water intake.
  2. I’m doing the multi vitamin patches too. I tried several vitamins but couldn’t tolerate any of them. So my doc said the patch would be a good alternative.
  3. I think I’m going to try setting alarms on my phone so I don’t forget to eat or prioritize other things. I’m pretty discouraged on how weight loss has stalled the last couple weeks.
  4. I really didn’t notice getting hungry until about a week or so ago.
  5. I’m only getting about 2 oz at a time down but definitely skipping meals and snacks due to work craziness. I think maybe I just miss eating in general.. maybe this is the head hunger. I mean, I just want a dang taco lol
  6. Hi everyone. I’m 6 weeks post op and m finding I’m getting much hungrier throughout the day. I’m definitely focused on liquid intake and protein but I’m curious how many calories folks are taking in that are at a similar post op point. I’m paranoid I’m eating too many.
  7. I can only get down about 1.5 ounces if it’s chicken or Turkey. Something like cottage cheese or yogurt I’m closer to the 2.5 ounce mark.
  8. I am eating tuna. I’ve made tuna salad with hard boiled eggs, low fat mayo, sugar free relish. But I’m kind of burnt out on tuna because I ate that quite a bit on puréed diet. Im going to attempt eating halibut this weekend since my dog said white flaky fish is good on soft foods.
  9. I also moved to soft foods this week and I’m allowed to have bread, if it’s toasted. I have sugar free whole wheat bread I found and I toasted that, put a bit of mashed avocado on it, topped with a hard boiled egg. It’s really good. I can’t finish the whole thing, only about a 1/4 to 1/3 but then I eat the rest for lunch.
  10. Crystal light just started to make me feel weird the other day. I tried Mio and it’s great!
  11. Sounds like you’re doing really well! I’m horrible with a good schedule. My work schedule is so crazy I have a very hard time finding time to eat during the day. Definitely need to work on a schedule. Do you use an alarm or anything?
  12. Had my sleeve on 6th.. so, 3 weeks for me. I still have a week left of puréed foods. It’s been an emotional roller coaster! I went back to work after 4 days, probably was a bit over zealous bc the fatigue is still getting to me. I can’t wait to actually bite into something. I’m also experiencing a slight stall so trying to stay off scale for a few days!!
  13. It gets better! The first few days I was uncomfortable but I’m about 3 weeks out now and I can tell you it does get better. I think physically I felt much better about a week out. Everyone’s different but definitely staying hydrated was key I think.
  14. Sorry about the throat pain. Have you looked into the patch vitamins? I haven’t started anything besides B12 right now but I’ve heard good things about patches. Great job with the walking. You’re killing it!
  15. I had a completely torn throat and busted lip coming out of surgery from the intubation. Around the third day, when I stopped pain meds, it was excruciating. My doc said gargling salt water was slowed to help with healing.
  16. Try a heating pad over stomach. It really helped me.
  17. When do you move to purée stage? I was so hungry by the end of my post op liquid phase. The purée stage definitely helps!!
  18. I’m with you on this too. My nutritionist said my primary goals early on is protein intake and hydration. I wouldn’t stress about what intervals you’ are getting each right now, just that you are. Good luck!
  19. I’ve read that just the stress of the preop diet, they surgery stress itself on the body, and the recovery period immediately following surgery can actually trigger hair loss early on. I’ve been reading that Biotin and Iron are really critical to help with it.
  20. I am so freaking hangry. lol. Had to turn off tv a lot bc of all the dang food commercials!
  21. Good luck! I’m 5 days out and for me the biggest thing is just taking this journey in each phase, as opposed to trying to think of the long road. I find it easier. So, maybe just focus on going into surgery positive, coming out positive and listening to your team during your post op recovery. Then take the next phase, then next one..
  22. Also, I’ve known people who did sleeve ave say you do learn new ways to identify being satiated, maybe not stuffed full, but content for what you beat based on what your body needs.
  23. I have not vomited today at all. Also, feeling nauseous has been pretty mild. I know everyone is different, but that has been my day so far. The stomach cramps and gas pains have been the most uncomfortable so far. I use peppermint oil on my wrist and when I feel a bit sick to my stomach I take a small whiff and it helps.
  24. Yea tell them you have run flats and don’t need much. Haha!
  25. They do, but for me it was some next level gas pains, interestingly enough everyone in recovery room was dealing with it so I wonder if the OR team over inflated for the day? lol
