Recommended Posts

Guys I'm so scared and nervous, I know this will be the start of a fantastic journey but surgery terrifies me. Only part I'm worried about is how ill feel when I wake up. Any encouraging thoughts or words would be much appreciated. Wish me luck!!

you'll do fine! All I really remember feeling the first day or two was TIRED! I slept most of the time. I really didn't have any pain. I felt a little nauseated the day of surgery, so I let the nurses know - they put Zofran in my IV line, which really helped. Other than that, it really was much better than I'd expected. Good luck to you!

Good luck! I was pretty miserable when I first woke up, but once I got to sip some Water and walk around, I was ok. I had surprisingly little pain and didn't need to take any pain medication, even Tylenol. When I first woke up, I did have the feeling of, "What have I done?! Why did I do this to myself?" and I think that is pretty common in the beginning, but for most of us, that goes away and we end up being very happy that we went through with it. I hope that doesn't make you more nervous or anything; my point is just that it is a big adjustment, but remember that you had very good reasons for getting this surgery, and don't get discouraged if it's hard at first.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
