So my doctor sent in my paperwork on the 22nd I believe or the 23rd and I haven’t heard back yet. I kind of figured I wouldn’t hear back until after Christmas and the weekend so I am really hoping to have an answer next week. The surgeon said if approved I would have the surgery in February. How long did it take once your paperwork was submitted to get a date? I have BCBSNJ by the way.

I can't remember - maybe a week or two? They likely have a lot of staff out on vacation for the holidays, so I'd give it a couple of weeks. You may hear before then, though...

It only took about two weeks for approval, but then my surgeon was booked up for a month on her schedule, so it took me a little while to get on the schedule for surgery.

Heh, I might be a special case because I kept advocating hard for myself all along, but from submission to approval was about 3 days for me. Originally one of the people I spoke with said it could take 7-10 business days for my insurance to respond, but I guess it depends on your insurance. The person I spoke with also said at the end of the year insurances tend to respond quickly.

Thanks everyone I have a good feeling I’ll hear within a week or two, I am so ready for this!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
