Will the heartburn ever go away

Recommended Posts

I’m 4 days post-op (lap band conversion to GB) and my doctor had me on purées before I left the hospital. Many surgeons have different requirements, so just listen to your surgeon AND your body, your body might be telling you it’s not ready to progress to the next phase.

Don't feel bad at all. I never ever have reached the "ideal eating plan" my doctor prescribes and especially not 3 days post op. I snapped at my dietician who said I needed to eat faster and more. I told her I'm going to eat until my stomach is full and follow my 30-30-30. I tried it her way once and I got extremely sick because my stomach isn't there yet. Everyone heals at their own pace. And it's the hardest and most frustrating thing to essentially learn how to eat again. Do the best you can with the Protein and keep hydrated. Maybe keep mushy foods on the back burner until you're further out. My doctor has his patients on full liquid/puree day 3-20 but I just had Protein Shakes and chicken broth. I think I was able to handle a very runny puree around 2 weeks post op. Hang in there.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
