What does "full" feel like post sleeve surgery

Recommended Posts

I just got sleeved on the 9th. So far i am still on liquids post op. What does full feel like post sleeve surgery? so far, even when drinking shakes I don't feel much. I still drink them slowly....but only thing I ever feel is what I would pre-surgery call gas pain.....but I feel it randomly through out the day anyway, so I can't tell what full feels like anymore.

For me, full is ..... my nose gets runny ! And the tummy full feeling is much "higher up" in my gut !

You will figure it out. It takes a few months to settle things down. Things change with the surgery, and your organs kind of shift and your insides are all weird for weeks after all that internal trauma.

You don't really feel it much while still on liquids. Trust me, when you start eating more bulky stuff, you'll know. I'm 11 days out now, and on softs. Had 3/4 of a scrambled egg this morning and could eat NO MORE.

For me the full feeling is nothing like it was pre-op.

Before it used to be a bloated/stretched feeling in the area behind my belly button, now its a tightness in my chest bust behind my boobs.

I felt this immediately after surgery when I ate/drank, but didn't know what it was until a month or so later.

I am male but for me you just can not swallow any more food. I agree with above different then Pre Op. if I push it it flys back up

You are on liquids so they flow right thru the belly It will be different when you are on solids

For the first four months post op I would cough when my pouch was nearing its limit. I’ve learned my lesson of eating too fast and too much - it’s certainly unpleasant.

I get tightness behind my rib cage if I eat or drink too fast. I get a full or heavy feeling if I take that extra bite & eat too much. It’s just at my chest not my belly. It’s like I’m filling up into my oesophagus.

Your nose will start to run when you're full. Seriously. I'm not kidding. And if you eat slowly enough you'll feel your pouch get full and you'll know when to stop. You'll know it when you feel it.

I'm only 7 weeks post-op, but I've found that fullness (and especially *over* fullness) manifests as a tightness in my chest and sometimes feels like I have food stuck in my esophagus. I find I will try to swallow, swallow, swallow when the latter happens and it's incredibly uncomfortable. Usually at that point, it will come right back up.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
