Symptoms of gallstones?

Recommended Posts

For those of you who had gallbladder issues, what symptoms did you have? I've sent my surgeon a note but am curious what others have experienced while I am waiting to hear back.

For reference, since bypass I've had what I thought was intermittent heartburn and neck pain. I mentioned the heartburn to my Dr at my 6 months, but didn't describe the actual pain. I was googling (I know, I know...) and it sounds like it could potentially be gallbladder. Symptoms are pain behind & below low my right breast, near my sternum. I also often have pain in the back of my neck and the same time. I also have fairly regular back pain (long standing) so no idea if that's related.

Thanks for sharing,

Lori

I would contact my Doc pretty quickly.

While you may be correct about it being your GB, it could also be referred pain of a heart issue, GERD, Hernia, or who knows what.

I am not a Doc, but I watched HOUSE recently, so I can say this for sure: It's never lupus.

Good Luck

My symptoms were severe pain under right last rib. Also, severe back pain under shoulder blade.

I didn't have neck or back pain, but had strong pains under my rib cage, usually after eating fatty foods. The pains were intermittent and sometimes would last hours, other times would cease sooner. Occasionally I felt winded, like my breathing was constricted.

Spoke to my Dr. on Friday and she agrees it sounds like gallstones. I am going in Thursday for an ultrasound to verify.

As further evidence, I had a somewhat fatty lunch (falafel) and I am extremely nauseous. This is the first time since surgery food has made me nauseous (I know I've been extremely fortunate). While it doesn't necessarily mean gallstones, it is a symptom.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
