A few milestones this week

Recommended Posts

I thought I'd log in with a few updates today. I started this process back on July 31st with a high weight of 284. I lost 34 lbs before surgery on Sept. 21st and weighed in at 233.2 this morning. The two big milestones are that I passed 50 lbs lost and I am now a BMI of 34, which means I'm only "obese" instead of "morbidly obese". I have a long way to go to my 180 target, but I am happy about the progress so far.

Now that I'm down 52 lbs (halfway to my goal), I'm not going back to my former fat self. I cleaned out my closet last night and got rid of about 15 suits and a bunch of other things. Because I have been on a roller coaster ride most of my adult life, I still have plenty of clothes to wear and have probably another 20-30 lbs to go before I need to go shopping. But it was very therapeutic to be able to say goodbye to the fat clothes.

I'm kind of in a stall (only lost 1.2 lbs. this week) at the moment, though I am slowly going down the scale. I think it is time to kick up the exercise a bit.

I broke the three-week stall. I tried to stay positive, but I'll admit, I was concerned. I weighed in a few weeks ago at 230, then 228 (yes, I weigh every day), and it went back up. I was back to 232ish and it stuck there for about a week. That was frustrating. I'll admit that this coincided with me pushing my limits as I tried to introduce more normal foods into my diet. I am happy to report the past three days, the scale has started moving again and I hit 224.8 (HW 284) this morning. I'm happy with where I am so far and feel like I'm heading in the right direction. I am also thankful for the advice on this forum, so when I hit the stall, I was more patient than I otherwise would be, since I knew what to expect.

I have been stalled for over a month. I got below 210 back around Thanksgiving (206.8) after I got COVID, but as soon as I started feeling better, I popped back to about 212 and have hovered between 208 and 210 ever since. Well, finally after a long month, I am finally down to 205. After three days in a row of lower numbers, I feel like the stall is broken and "onederland" is right around the corner.

The stall is broken and I'm losing a little bit every few days. Today, I passed a new milestone-

At 201.8 lbs, I have a BMI of 29.9, which according to the CDC, I am not Obese anymore- just Overweight.

Next... is to get under 200. Hopefully, I'll be able to post about that soon!

I had to get some new clothes this week. My XL shirts and 36 pants are too baggy, so found some 34 jeans and L t-shirts and hoodie on sale. I'm pretty happy about it since I started at XXXL shirts and 44 pants only 7 months ago. Still hovering just above 200 lbs, but that should break any day now.

after a stall around 190 that lasted about six weeks, I have finally broken through. I'm feeling good and 100 lbs lost is getting closer.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
