Has anyone had to have the 24 hour PH test??? Did it help with approval for revision?

I had a BRAVO test, which does the same thing but with a little capsule that is attached to the esophagus to monitor the acid level. I got approval for a revision, I don't know how much the test results had to do with it. My surgeon and I already knew I had GERD and esophagitis. The test did give them an indication how bad the GERD was.

Welcome.

I haven't had this test, but since it is a measurement of reflux and it turns out you have reflux then it's a good news, bad news situation:

The good news is reflux is a comorbidity so it will likely improve your case to insurance;

The bad news is you have reflux;

Good luck,

Tek

Ok. Thank you! I’ve already had other tests that show I have a hiatal hernia and reflux going into my distal esophagus. But my surgeon said it’s not enough. So now I’m doing the 24 hour PH. I’m praying this will get me approval.

I had to have a 48 hr. BRAVO ph monitor test, barium swallow test and an esophageal manometry test prior to insurance approval for sleeve to bypass conversion. I’m over 4 weeks post op and haven’t had an episode of GERD since surgery. It’s great! And losing weight is definitely an added bonus!

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
