Day 5 post op Still feeling bad. Gas pain is intense and my nausea came back and I vomited. Went to the ER and my blood pressure is 157/80. Super high for me cuz I’m usually low around 110.

They’re running labs on me

on top of this I’m dealing with a lot of personal drama that’s impacting my recovery :(

Starting my pre op diet today. I am just doing Protein Shakes for the whole day. Its making me gassy but thats ok. Tomorrow I will switch to egg and bread for meals (total 1000cal a day).

Hope everyone is doing ok, whatever it is you will get through it.

Thanks ! Still nauseated and gassy so they are keeping me another night. I’ve been walking a lot. I try to walk every hour. How long did you walk around ?

and does everyone go home with those injections ? I haven’t heard about them

I believe every Bariatric program/surgeon is different but my doctor did prescribe them. Never thought I would be able to do it on my own because I hate needles but I had a great nurse when I was in the hospital and she helped me get comfortable with it (or as comfortable as humanly possible Lol) The injections are a blood thinner that helps yo prevent clotting. If you are active that is a huge help to prevent clotting as well. The waist trainer helped me too. I haven't been wearing it lately but I use it when I go for walks.

Had my surgery on Wednesday. Had a hard time with vomiting after and it lasted until Thursday afternoon. Most likely a reaction to the anesthesia. Once that subsided it hasn't been too bad. I stayed an extra night in the hospital since I couldn't keep anything down. Today I feel fine just incision site pain. Not sleeping great since I can't sleep on my side. I am able to keep liquids down fine and was able to drink 1 Protein Shake yesterday. It gets easier every day.

Mine is on Wednesday 10/21. Pre-op diet has made me feel sick most of the time & made gerd feelings worse. I have fallen off of it a little a few times but I’ve lost almost 20lbs in 12 days. I’m scared my liver won’t be shrunk enough. Also, Tuesday I have to drink a bottle of magnesium citrate. Hopefully that won’t make me puke. I’m extremely nervous and can’t sleep. Stomach aches all the time. I’m constantly hungry. Questioning a lot right now. I do love this group and I thank you for sharing your stories.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
