Hi! My surgery date is September 9th. I'm so happy to be a part of one of these threads now! I'd love to have some surgery buddies too. ?

  • September 16th for me. Less than a month away now.

  • Sept 9 for me and Sept 23 for my husband! We are super excited to take this journey as we have tried everything you can think of over the past 10 years together. We have over 300lbs combined to loose

Surgery was this morning (revision from sleeve to bypass for GERD). So far I am doing very well and much better than I did at this point after sleeve. I’m already walking the whole hallway and have passed my sips test, so am drinking water and watered down apple juice. I am so happy I went through with this!

I was the same date. How are you holding up?

Just had mine done on the 14th. 54 year old male that has never been in hospital before and I can tell you that I was dreading it. Nervous was an understatement.

5 days on im wondering why I put myself through so much stress and sleepless nights!

I had excruciating pain the 1st day but by the 3rd day I have the odd twinge but nothing that I wasn't prepared for. I'm now pain free at day 5 and have been walking 3 or 4 miles each day.

My future is looking so optimistic now that I truly feel blessed.

I cannot believe the struggle I've had for the last 35 years is finally over.

I'm looking forward to wearing some of my smaller and now retro clothes lol

Stay positive as its all worth it in the end.

thanks for the update. pretty much the info i’ve been wanting to hear. my date is friday 9/25. the recovery is my biggest fear. how did you fare on your liquid diet?

For me I was dreading the procedure and the recovery as some of my friends had said they suffered with the after effects of the anesthetic. I have however surprised myself how well I actually feel. You have got this ....thats my mantra.

Liquid diet isn't bothering me too much.

When I flew back to my city, I stood looking at the menu boards in burger king and domino's pizza. 5 minutes passed and thought " you are not hungry so move along"

I've only really noticed that when ever I switch the TV on its a food advert so I just reach for a sip of water. I honestly do not feel hungry.

Last night I opened a tin of soup. I put 1/4 in a dish and heated it. I actually finished 1/2 of what I made lol. True story.

If i have a cup of tea. The best I can manage is actually 1/2 a cup.

I am sticking to the rules given me that I have to drink a lot of water to keep hydrated. I will stick to the experts advice and follow the program for a change.

Just had mine the 16th! Only day 3 of post op. Everything went well but I am still just trying to navigate this new life. Also I am dealing with pain still, so that’s not fun.

Welcome to the post-op side @SincerelyMeg! I hear you. Everyday you will feel a tadbit better. It is day 5 for me, and am just starting to feel better from the pain.

Same date :)

@irish_elfen: me too! Same surgery, same date!

I had my rny on the 16th I’m doing pretty good I just dread the protein shakes I make sure I finish them but it isn’t easy not having an appetite, besides that everything is good I’m healing pretty well not much much I have some dizzy spells and bouts of tiredness, at some points I think y did I do this but that doesn’t last long, I hope everyone else is doing good
