I finally got my surgery date for gastric sleeve! September 11th seems like a long way off right now but I'm hoping it will go quickly. I'm so glad to have found this forum! Its helping me feel prepared and I'm grateful for all of the tips from those who've already been through the process.

Surgery day will be here before you know it, time goes fast.

My one tip would be follow to your surgeon or dietician's post op guidelines particularly in the first three to six months. There will be times when you may have a slip up but don't let that hinder your progress, get back on track immediately.

Good luck!

Sansan80 we are surgery buddies. I am having RNY done on Sept 2nd too. It feels so much more real now that I have a date. Butterflies in my stomach started as soon as they gave it to me.

Have my VSG scheduled for September 23rd! I'm so so nervous but beyond excited - I'm considering it a huge chapter closing on my (albeit traumatic) teenage years and opening up a whole new world in the future~!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
