Hi everyone! I am 10.5 years post gastric bypass and I am finally pregnant! It's been a long journey. 2 years after WLS I found out I had thyroid cancer. Then we tried for a year and ovulation wasn't detected. We stopped trying and now 6 years later we are finally pregnant! Woo! I currently weigh 123, down from my high of 260! I also eat a fully plant-based diet and generally feel very healthy.

I'm excited, BUT I am incredibly nervous. My PCP checked all my Vitamin levels before we started trying and all looked great, except my B12 was high... I had some very short lasting and not heavy bleeding right around implantation, so I went last week for hcg level checks and it all looked great.

I had a great meeting with a bariatric dietician, so I feel good about the nutrition part. I get my ultrasound tomorrow, and then in two weeks I'll start going to an MFM.

In the meantime, I'm wondering if there is anything I should be asking or on the lookout for?

Thank you so much!

P.s. I also have pretty bad anxiety if you couldn't tell yell

That’s some of the best news you can get! Food-wise, you may have to be looser with restrictions and let your body tell you what it needs. Each of my pregnancies changed how I ate. Don’t be too strict on yourself and know your body is telling you what it needs to nourish your baby.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
