Dr. Duc Vuong is my new (bariatric) spiritual guide

I just discovered Dr. Duc Vuong's youtube channel and now i'm OBSESSED! It felt really affirming having someone point out that most doctors have you shoot for the "average" weight loss, 60-65% of EBW e.g. how my nutritionist suggested my goal should be 170lbs- like wtf? Dr. V pushes his patients to get to around 20 BMI and I'm here for THAT! I think I've watched 6 or 8 of his videos since discovering him yesterday. So good! And no BS! Plus I kinda love that he swears too, feels more genuine. Here's one of his vids, check him out!

I like his older videos, too. Having "big goals" is nothing wrong or naughty. The problem is how people react when they don't reach them or only reach them partly. So it might not be wrong to set

True. In the end it's always a question of "how big is the price one has to pay for it". If you can maintain a BMI in the normal range or maybe even in the being-slightly-overweight range rather

Doesn't (or rather shouldn't( detract from the the helpfulness of his older stuff

If you do a bit of research on the internet, you'll find that he's not practicing and hasn't been for quite a few years. Maybe running MLM weight loss schemes because it's not possible to find employment in the medical field after losing various ethical and legal lawsuits (including a class-action lawsuit) and having your medical license revoked...

I really like Dr. Matthew Weiner's videos. Most of them are several years old...

He's posted some new content on there over the past year or so, but I think the bariatric basics were mostly covered in his initial set of videos. Wish he'd do more updates, though his books seem to have taken up where the Youtube videos left off.

When I was looking for a nutritionist who specialised in plant-based nutrition for bariathletes, his clinic was extremely helpful and didn't even charge me. You can also attend their WLS support group without charge even if you had surgery somewhere else (in-person support group on hold right now because of covid-19).

I love him. He is direct and plain speaking. It is great! He keeps me focused on my journey.

love him.... Started watching his vids when i started doing more research on a revision. He was direct and to the point.

He says in most of his vids that he is no longer doing SX, but i think his approach is still valid. I watch nearly all of his post... not so much on the last few because it really deals more with covid.... but still some great information.

He is being a bit misleading, he is still saying on posts 'I am a weight loss surgeon' ' I'm a bariaric surgeon'. He was but isn't anymore. Does anyone know how many years it has been since he was a registered doctor/surgeon?
