I was just sleeved 07/16/2020 originally scheduled for 05/21/2020. So far it’s sore and a chore to stay on top of my liquids

I was sleeved on the 8th. Much better after 3-4 days so hang in there! Moved to purée food and starting to navigate that which can be pretty daunting to watch everything you use to cook with but definitely doable and worth it! Shocked about weight loss and is seems unreal. Walking really helps even though in the beginning it was really tough:) good luck

Do you get any type of pain/pressure after drinking? I do no matter how slow I sip! And God forbid it not be room temperature 😩

I've been keeping things around room temp but i do get some pain if i sip too much too fast or if I try to recline and sip.

Sleeved last Thursday, July 16th. Worst for me has been when I try to be tough and don’t take the pain meds. My whole body tenses up and I get a horrible headache. But taking the pain meds and walking helps. This afternoon I turned on KLove and walked for 30 minutes up and down my hallway singing along. It was wonderful and helped so much!

I replied earlier, but I had my sleeve on 7/13. I am struggling with the liquid diet. I would do anything for something soft or mushy even...just food. I hate that I’m always having to sip something that tastes disgusting (protein shakes and broth) and my tummy is constantly rumbling and bubbling, and causing burps. I miss meals with my family.

I’ve seen from other threads that it gets better pretty quickly with most people able to eat mostly normally, although obviously in much smaller portions, around a month out. Trying to stay positive, but there have been moments when I’ve wondered if I made the right choice. I think the anesthesia effects, recovery from surgery, lack of calories, and hormonal differences do a number on your emotions. Can’t wait to feel more happy and healthy!

I had sleeve surgery 4 days ago. Today brought some unexpected tears out of nowhere. I am hungry and tired of liquids. I think I'm drinking plenty of fluids but not getting Protein in. I read that is normal for week one. Need to get moving more! Anyone else have daily shots for preventing DVT? Dr. Didn't really explain. I've kept myself on pain meds to be able to just heal. I want to get to a routine tomorrow but I'm pretty weak and tired.

I got some good Protein Drinks that are tasty and 15 grams of Protein in 8 ounces. Forget where but just Google Bariatrics drinks or something like that. Good luck

I should be heading out for pre-op testing (COVID) and then to my Mom's in Miami to wait for my surgery. I hope the hospital's re-open for elective surgeries soon...but it seems rather doubtful. Florida is such a mess right now! Good luck to everyone who is getting their surgery this week!!

I am getting excited...I have my teleconference pre-op class with my dietitian and nurse today. Pre-op visit with doctor and anethesiologist on Wednesday, along with COVID test. I am pretty much staying home now except for necessary outings until surgery on 7/30 to minimize my risk of being exposed to COVID. I hope the test results are negative...they should be, I don't have any symptoms...but you hear stories of people being asymptomatic.

Good luck to everyone going in for their surgeries this week!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
