I had mt surgery in 2017 and didn't have much luck in the loosing weight department. I have an appointment with my surgeon and ask for a revision. I am unsure if my insurance horizon health nj will cover it a second time and what are the new requirements to have the surgery done again.

Any help would be appreciated [emoji120]

Usually has to be medically necessary?

it depends on your insurance. Most won't cover a revision unless, like Superman said, it's medically necessary (and some won't even then...)

Just a question.... Why didn't the sleeve work? Did it work for a while?

To be frank that's possibly more to do with eating habits vs actual issue with sleeve?

I am getting a revision done this coming Wednesday. What happen was I had my sleeve done in nov 2013 and I did great! But I had very bad heartburn so I started taking nexium daily. In 2016 my surgeon did a hiatal hernia repair. That did not help so I just dealt with it and ended being put on dexilant medication for Gerd. So I had a upper GI and endoscopy and it showed regurgitation and acid reflux . So my doctor sent everything over to blue shield of California PPO. And it was authorized by them . My surgery was supposed to Take place April 8, 2020 but had to be rescheduled because of the coronavirus. So my new date is this coming Wednesday, June 24 and I got my clearance and I even had the Covid test last Thursday so I’ve been quarantine till Wednesday. I’ve also gained some weight in the last two years so this should help with my Gerd and weight gain. I’m very nervous but I’ll be so happy to be off the medication for the horrible heartburn.

Anxious to hear how Old Profile's surgery went. I am meeting with my surgeon next week to discuss bypass revision surgery for fixing GERD, hiatal hernia, and had weight gain after sleeve. Best of luck to you!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
