Recovery from Sleeve to DS?

Recommended Posts

So basically just the intestinal part of the DS surgery if that makes sense. I have my sleeve already in place since 2014 😉

Curious about how recovery might go. My sleeve recovery was okay, nothing major but there were plenty of situations with the stomach that were challenging due to the extreme restriction at the beginning.

Any thoughts, experiences, opinions?

Yea they keep the sleeve and then do the rest to make it a DS

I had bypass and it's not that dissimilar to DS recovery was fine just sore for a few days...

Wow, I can see where you would be possibly unhappy with the effects you are dealing with ( I read your pros and cons).

Are you currently thinking of changing back to sleeve? Did you lose your extra weight you were needing to lose when you revised to the DS? Was the actual surgical recovery painful or difficult?

I am sure you are trying everything possible, but , curious if diet changes are having any impact on the gastrointestinal issues at hand that you are living with.

Thank you for sharing! @Wisconsin_Gal

I am a revision patient from sleeve to modified DS. I haven’t read Wisconsin_Gals post but from my personal experience any strong odors or diarrhea is from my own bad behavior. If I’m playing by the rules I have neither. Good luck with your decision!

Thank you so much @onmyway11!

How is it going for you so far? Also curious as to your decision process between the regular DS and the modified... what pushed your decision toward the mod version if you are willing to share!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
