If you DIDN'T do Liquid Pre-Op what DID you do?

Recommended Posts

They usually ask to do liquid because you're meant to be on liquid immediately after surgery anyway...

Personally I decided to stay my pre-op rather early I was lucky to find a Protein Shake I actually enjoyed and it kept me going for months..

After I had my bypass I literally has no desire to eat real food for months and I'm glad because I'm now below my goal weight and feeling amazing...

Most surgeons will say it is best to change your eating habits prior to surgery otherwise the surgery won't work...

I did not have a pre-op diet because my surgeon told me that my BMI put me at a lower risk for an enlarged liver. He confirmed this with my pre-op tests. Thus, I didn't need a liquid diet to reduce my liver size. I was and continue to be on the same diet since I began my journey which is no bread, rice, potatoes, Pasta, sweets. I did have to stop eating and drinking at certain times before surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
