Skin issues?

Recommended Posts

It’s been almost 10 months since my gastric sleeve surgery. I’m really excited that I’ve lost almost 90 pounds! Oddly enough my skin seems drier and Even more sensitive than before the surgery. Before the surgery I used to get rashes and yeast infections under my breasts and behind my knees. Now behind my knees are so itchy and dry. I will admit that I need to drink more Water and this probably why my skin is so dry. Has anyone else experienced this? Even the skin on my belly is itchy.

Yeaaa, itchy skin is a pain. I use the gold bond eczema cream to help with it, but I also take fish oil. It's really helped my skin a lot.

Plus, drinking at least 72oz of Water a day. Gotta stay hydrated, and your skin will love you for it.

Congrats on the weight loss! That's fantastic!

Part of it could be fat malabsorption, and the fact that you are eating a lot less fat now than before surgery. My skin and hair are very dry every since surgery, but I also have fat malabsortion. I never used Shampoo for dry hair before, but I do now. Lots of moisturizer, and of course, you just have to drink the Water.

The good side is that there are no more fungal infections from hot, moist skin. :)

That’s really interesting. I realized that my skin was so much dryer lately. I didn’t realize it could be because of surgery. Just another thing to add to the list of ‘weird things that have been happening to me because of surgery’ 😂

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
