I will be 2 months post op tomorrow, and I still can't shake this fatigue! It's getting better (1-2 naps per week instead of every day), but even when I'm not napping, I just want to lay down and rest. About half way through my shower I need to sit for a minute and take a little rest. I feel guilty b/c I haven't been keeping up with cleaning the house, laundry, etc, but I'm just so tired all the time. I want my energy back!

How long did it take until you were completely fatigue-free?

Well I've heard that people need to keep up with their Protein levels to keep level with your energy needs. So just make sure you're getting in that protein and Water so you're not overexerting. Are you sleeping enough at night? IDK I haven't had much fatigue per say, when I need to sit down it's because I'm really sore and feeling pain from my incision areas. Are you getting enough Vitamins like D. I was D deficient before surgery so I still take extra in a sublingual (melt on your tongue 👅) pill daily. Maybe also talk to you doctor maybe get some blood testing.

Good Luck 🍀 hoping you figure something out.

How much Protein are you getting daily? I just had my one month checkup and the nutritionist recommended I up my protein daily since I was getting fatigued later in the day. She recommended 80 grams daily for me. I had been doing 60 to 70 grams daily.

I'm currently shooting for between 70-90 grams myself. But I mix extra in with one of my morning Soups so that I get a great big boost early on. My morning Soup has 40 grams in it with extra scoop of protein added to it. My body thrives on protein though, since I was Keto 18 months prior to surgery. I know we're all different.

I think it was about two months for me - so you should be feeling back to normal pretty soon..

Thanks everyone!! I'm going to try to increase my Protein. My nutritionist told me not to worry about it too much the first 2 months, but I hit 2 months tomorrow, and really need to start concentrating on it!

I've had 60 grams so far today, and am going to work harder to hit 80 grams per day from here on out.

Thanks again everyone!!!

I think this is highly individual.

For me, the first 4 months was a breeze. No fatique to talk about. I was a little more tired and had some headaches, but overall...good shape. Then reality hit me straight in the face. Today's chart at the doctors had me noted as "patient has similarites to anorexia patients when it comes to calories"🤯

It should get better day by day as your weight decreases and your calories increases. Just eat what they say, and do your Protein.

Im 5 months post op. I still have this problem from time to time. At times I cant sleep at all and others All i do is sleep. I tried it all intaking more Protein till i went in for blood work and found out i have a really bad Iron deficiency and my hemoglobins are really low as well. I advice anyone with this to continue getting blood work even after the 3 month check up because I was literally forcing myself to eat more to see if i boosted my energy and none of it was working now is that i'm getting a little more because we are targeting the problem.

Yes, I saw Dr Weiner discuss this in a video earlier today actually. It is common that patiens feels fatuige, go to the GP, get some blood done and beeing sent home only for the DR to call later that day to tell the patient he needs to go hospital because he must be bleeding somewhere. In the hospital every test is done before they finally figure out that it is Iron deficiency and low hemoglobin.

I'v been reglious with my blood test so far. I get them every 6. week or so. In my case fatigue is not iron deficiency because I of some reason have very good iron. It's more that I haven't eaten so much so the body is using all the left overs they can find, making me dizzy and broken down.

I am almost 8 weeks post op and I am down to 157 from 202. I have been struggling with nausea but not vomiting. Anyone else having this happen?

Officially no longer over weight! Goal #1 reached! I'm now under 80kgs (176 lbs) at 179cm (5'10") and 10 months post-op and am over the moon. My weight at 79.9 kgs (176 lbs) gives me a BMI of 24.9 which means that I have a normal weight! OMG.
I still want to lose about 16 lbs more though in order to get safely into the middle range to insure against that little regain that happens. The I have maintenence in front of me as well.
BUT I have hit my first goal. Yeah me!!!

I had my gastric sleeve done September 10, 2020... I started out 330# before surgery.... I'm down to 260# now... I've been stalled out for over two months now.... I exercise when I can (Bad back/knees)... I follow my diet , get my protein and drink my water... But still not losing any weight... I've done everything I can think of to break the stall.... Even went back to liquid diet....  Sometimes I think this was a mistake having the surgery...

sorry to hear that don't feel down. Maybe a reset meaning something new. I am in the process of having the surgery a second time. I had Lapland in 2012 removed in 2018 and I have gained everything back and some. When I stalled on lapband I had to do something new for me I joined a free boot camp and Zumba and then boom dropped 38 pounds in 2 months. I know you said bad back and knees so find something with your limits. But I think try something new I stalled for 8 months
