Maxing out my 700 calories for the day and still hungry

Recommended Posts

So I’m about a few days short of 3 months and I don’t know if it normal but I have been getting hungry more often. I still can’t take more then 3-4 ounce max of food and I never drink an hour before eating and an hour after idk the 30 mins after wasn’t working because I drank and felt like I over did it and would throw up so I stick to an hour after. But I’m hungry I eat my veggies and Proteins and I have healthy Snacks about twice in between and it still isn’t working. Maybe it’s my sleeping because I wake up around 9-10am and go to bed around late-ish. My nutritionist said it was very normal but I’m scared I might be end up gaining if she advances me to more then 700 calories. I need some advice maybe some foods to try. Help 😔

What are you eating/drinking?

Here's some caloric information on popular Protein sources

This is really help full! My day would consist of like an Medium egg and maybe some tomatoes scrabbled in it. Then lunch is like chicken and the freezer mix veggies a cup of that and dinner would be maybe another 2 ounces of chicken and carrots or tuna and two leafs of lettuce. My snacking is like healthy mix nuts an ounce of that and skinny pop a Serving of that. Or I will have a table spoon of Peanut Butter and a banana.

Nuts are super calorically dense, way less bang for your caloric buck at 3 months post op.

If you are ok with this, understand that your daily calories will likely be higher that what your NUT standardly recommends (for someone who is eating mostly Proteins and nothing else)

Good Luck ❤

That sounds normal to start getting hungry. Sounds like you've got a good handle on it. Stick with the program.

That's about right. I remember getting hungrier at the 3-4 month mark.

I made sure to do very lean, very dense, dry Protein. 2-3oz per meal. First.

Then I changed veggies to be cooked al dente from fresh. 1-2oz. Also very dry and dense. I did not add oils/butters etc. Dry. Eat this second.

Then I added 1oz avocado (for the good fats) and 1oz grape tomatoes (at that time it was more like 1/2oz and 1/2 oz). Eat this last. It's a slider.

From there if you are having hunger, then I'd add veggies as between meal mini meals if you need with a healthy fat (like raw veg + lower fat cottage cheese or yogurt + Ranch Dressing Mix).

Yep I'm 3.5 months out and finally starting to try new foods it is nice to have the variety but other days I'm too busy so shakes are still a part of my life :)

i find if I get any craving to eat or drink high Protein low carb.

if I decide to take In extra carbs one day it will make me hungrier than normal..

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
