Breaking the 3 week stall!

Recommended Posts

So glad to know I'm not alone! I'm going through this right now. I feel slimmer, but the scale hasn't moved. I'm doing the program, probably could drink more Water than I am. I literally have been worrying thinking maybe due to my PCOS I'm going to be that person that loses only 25 pounds and that's it. Or else maybe my body is in starvation mode and doesn't know what to do. It's hard when I'm doing my best and really trying to not have that reward of a lower weight...I keep reminding myself it's my health I'm trying to get back, not my figure. Very mentally challenging at this point.

Yesss!! Especially being newly sleeved. The mental challenge is the hardest. My Dr. was just like go with it. You WILL lose weight and the way you eat will always be this new way. He said he doesn’t even care about the Weightloss this soon because it’s not important. What’s important is following the plan. I can honestly say I’m not perfect with the plan, but if you think about it you’re going to drop weight. I was almost 2 weeks stalled then bam 2lbs down the other day and 2 yesterday (I almost didn’t weigh today for fear I was gonna be stuck at yesterday’s number). The mental struggle is real!!

This is good to know! I don't have any cravings for sweets, or bread or junk foods. But I do have cravings for juicy steaks and roasted chicken...must be my body craving protein! Also broccoli, I can't wait for broccoli. I guess craving healthy foods is a good thing right? I'm just hoping that my stall will stop soon, so I know that I did the right thing with this surgery. Even though I know I did, it's just a new normal that's hard to get used too. This site has helped me so much. Good luck on your continuing journey!!

Im 4 months out of vsg. Here came the 3 week stall. And still stalling. Back to Protein Shakes, to get my Protein in. This is the only thing I can think to do to break this stall. I do know that my clothes are fitting diffrently, just wish the number on the scale would move.

I'm 3 months out (ESG) and now I'm going thru hell - my 1st stall. I guess I shouldn't complain since I didn't experience a stall until now but boy does it suck. I'm finally a "healthy" bmi and this is what I get for my effort. I also started a Water aerobics class last week so it's like a double punch. I just hope it doesn't last too long.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
