So how much sleep did you get the night before surgery?

Recommended Posts

I'm laying in bed for the last three hours trying to sleep. Nothing surgery wise seems to be bothering me, except making sure everything around the house is taken care of for the next few days we will be gone. Gotta get up and start a fire in the wood stove in 3.5 hrs, take a shower with the surgical scrub for the third time within 24 hours, make my wife some coffee, brush my teeth, put my phone charger in our go bag, put down extra dogfood, toys, Snacks and Water for the kids, set the furnace to 65f degrees, and the wake the wife up and hurry up and hand her cup of coffee before she tries to slash my throat with her nails for waking her up before daylight. (The coffee is like a force field protection), and last grab our bag and a refill of coffee for grumpy, then we're out.

I suffer from insomnia so the night before surgery I pretty much didn't sleep, even when I wasn't worried at all about the surgery. Good luck!!!

Well I guess my answer is none, went ahead and took a shower, brushed my teeth, a gargled with mouthwash for 2 minutes. Will repeat with the mouthwash before I go out the door. To everybody having surgery today, good luck. Adios my friend's just in case.

I slept maybe five hours? Went to bed earlier than usual, but woke up five hours later at like 2 AM. Just kept awake by watching YouTube videos for two hours until I had to shower, give the dog a pee run, and leave at 4:30.

Good luck!

May I ask what state are you in? Time zone?

Good luck to all having surgery today! I don't actually remember the night before surgery, but I usually do a bit of tossing and turning the night before. I know you were not asking me but I am in the state next door to you. See you on the other side!

I actually slept for about 6 hours last night, then tossed and turned for another 2 which is a pretty normal night for me. I was shocked.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
