I'm 3 weeks post op. When I went to my post op appt a week and a half ago, the nurse told me to stay at around 600 calories a day. This would of been funny to me pre-surgery but now its easy. How ever, I have done a little experimenting and it seems like a lose a little more if I eat a bit more calories, just a bit. So some days I stay at 600 others I try to go up a bit. What are everyone's calories looking like day to day???

Male but i stay around 500 - 600 a day since Surgery and flew the weight off - Now i am going to try and stabilize a little and bump it up a little. Biggest problem at this low calorie count is i am freezing my ass off in Naples Florida?

Doing some Cross Fit so i need more Protein and a bump in calories. Also running low like this you tend to sleep a lot -

I'm also 3 weeks post-op. At my last appointment my doctor told me I should be consuming 800-1000 calories a day. I most definitely do not consume that many though! I generally try to stay under 600. My weight loss has stalled since the first week of surgery, so I think I'm going to try to get up to 600.

3 week stall is typical - Stay on you plan it will break and back to losing

that being cold thing is really common. I'm OK most of the time now, but the first year or so out I was freezing all the time

I'm at somewhat of a 3 week stall as well...but I'm down 28 pounds in those three weeks and my pants are falling off...so what the hey! I'm averaging 600 calories and 65 Protein a day, so I guess I'm doing all I can do.

Merry Christmas everyone! And a skinny New Year.

According to MFP, I averaged 326 calories during my 3rd week post-op.

I'm 1 year 2 months out now and I can do 1600-2000 cals on an average day (but there are still days I can go as low as 600 and then other days when I can go up to 3000).

This a meelion times (only I can't go to 3000 without a gain).

I'm 22months now. And I maintain by calorie/macro cycling during the week. Some days I do 600-800cals (WLM days) and other days I do 1000-1400cals. I try hard to make most of that deep nutrition. So I get LOTS of bulky volume with veggies and dense Proteins. I average about 1100cals/day over a week.

At 3 weeks I was averaging around 600cals (between 500-650).

my first month i was 300-600 cal. then i was instructed by my doc to go to 800 cal. (4months) i went for a check up last week and was told to start trying to hit 1000 cal. im taking my doctors directions and sticking to them because he hasnt led me wrong yet. HE also knows that i am training for a half marathon( 3 long distance runs a week) and i do crossfit 5 days a week. So my calories may be a little higher then someone else at my stage. Im not sure. I just know ive been having success and i love every minute of this. Every person and every doctor is different. This is just what ive done. Good luck to you!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
