Let's make this the official January surgery date thread. I will be having my surgery on 1/31/2020. I was certain that I was going to have the vsg, but I'm learning more and leaning towards the rouxny (rny) gastric bypass. Whatever you decide, let's get this thread started and support one another. I'm just starting it, but anyone can feel free to jump in and keep it going ?.

Had my sleeve in 1/28. So I’m on day 4 post opp. Was finally able to drink a whole protein shake. Took me an hour but I did it. I made the mistake of weighing myself and I’m up 15 pounds from Tuesday. I’m walking to get rid of the gas they pump us with but man—when you are sore and the scale goes up it’s frustrating!

Do not get on the scale! You're swollen, pumped full of fluids and air. Let your mind AND body rest and don't weigh yourself for a couple of weeks!

Gastric sleeve on Friday, 1/30, so I'm only 2 days out. Not feeling too bad except for the gas pains. But I've gotten really nauseous to the point of vomitting a couple times, only to have just air come out. I'm talking mouth sweats, excessive saliva, but no vomit. Anyone else experience this? Does it last long? Any suggestions?

You will lose that extra 15 and then some in the next 2wks. Don't sweat it.

Just want to say congratulations to everyone in our January group! We made it! Now on to healthier lives and new eating behavior!

Punxsutawney phil did not see his shadow so spring will be early. Time to get out and walking! It's going to be almost 70 here today! Go Chiefs!

Omg we have not had any snow all winter in Colorado!!!! I love winter (I’m the girl walking in the freezing cold) but I also love our summer. Hope everyone enjoys the game today!!!!!

Was looking forward to going out and being active today. Made the mistake of putting Carys sf syrup in my thinned cream of wheat. Abort mission ! Abort! Lol. Currently writhing in gas pain. Never bothered me before.... Lesson learned.

Also check out my side by side- left is Monday night after surgery and right is yesterday! All the fluid is gone! My glasses even got better.

Omg that’s funny. Yea today is 70 and tomorrow is snow here. So I totally Understand lol

Wow! You look great!! I’m sure you already said but did you have vsg or RNY?

Looking great!! Reminds me I need to take a pic of my belly. One month post-op tomorrow but better late than never!!
