Has Anyone noticed their weight loss kicking in a couple of months AFTER surgery -

Recommended Posts

My weight loss at first was on the slower end and now (thank G-d) it seems to have picked up a bit and I was curious if anyone else had this experience. Now that I can eat more foods and I have been having more carbs (so perhaps that is the change) the weightless is faster but I am still curious if anyones body seemed to take a couple of months to get used to the surgery and then bam... their metabolism and weight loss kicked in? Would love to know folks' experiences ...

In general weight loss slows at an increasing pace as you get closer to goal assuming diet/exercise regimen stay the same. It is possible you are breaking a plateau though and experiencing a whoosh. Dont expect it to last more than 2-3 weeks max before you settle into your new range.

everyones body is different and i think they react differently. Mine definitely does NOT follow the general rules. It didn't before surgery and it doesnt now. Whoosh's typically don't last several weeks. And I haven't plateaued, my weight loss rate has just picked up but that might be because I upped my carbs... which is also a-typical... Ive had less Protein and more carbs and the weight is coming off way faster now.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
