I have had the bypass. Can I take Nyquil

Make sure anything you take has no sugar and no NSAIDS like aspirin, ibuprofen etc. The nyquil pills have a gel outer shell that might not dissolve well. So you might want to squeeze the contents out into your drink. I find it easier to take single formulation over the counter meds than trying to take multiple formulation meds like "Tylenol Cold" etc. I hope you feel better.

Are you sick or is it for sleep? If you are sick you need to make sure it only has Tylenol not nsaids/ibuprofen. Liquid is better than the large pills, they likely won’t dissolve enough to be effective. If it’s for sleep unisom makes tiny pills, they also make sleep melts. Small pills without coating and that are NOT timed release will dissolve better but it depends on where you are at after surgery, you need to wait a few months after surgery to start taking pills of any kind.

Also, liquid NyQuil contains alcohol, so it would take effect quicker in a bypass patient. Just a FYI.

Pills
I was asking about that because I recently took Dayquil and swesr that one of the pills got stuck in the opening between my pouch and intestines! I had pain for about an hour. I'm going to stick to liquid Nyquil.

Oh my goodness! I’m sure that was terribly painful.

I just googled it - it does have acetaminophen (Tylenol) in it, which should be OK. The above posters are right about the alcohol, though - depending on how much is in there, it could hit you hard. Maybe you could get the liquid and just take half a dose or something to see if you can handle it first?? Or better yet, call your clinic and ask.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
