To whom it may concern.

I got to see my surgeon again yesterday.

It went really really well I'm still 4.5 weeks out from my date which is confirmed as 10/28 and I'll be the first surgery after lunch that day.

I've started my own preop diet early and I'm down 38lbs currently at 282lbs aiming for around 185lbs.

Surgeon says any weightloss will definitely help him do the surgery and help my recovery.

The BMI doesn't matter they use the first BMI that's it but he said it's good I've lowered my risk factors and I'll be in my own private room and private bathroom facilities in the hospital.

I'll be looking at least 3 days as long as I'm getting liquids down and walking well but if any issues could be longer.

I do have some kidney issues so will need extra monitoring before I leave as I live on my own.

In response to the technical he said he usually makes the bypass 120cm long whatever that means; he said it's restrictive but not Majorly so that you can still live with some Vitamins and to be most careful to get enough Calcium and Vitamin D for the bones as the bones can possibly have issues long term if not taken care of early.

He was really happy with my weight loss and to see how committed I was so that I don't need to see him until surgery day :)

He just said keep up the good work and basically in giving my body a Head Start by losing weight before the surgery!!

I'm happy. I'm excited.

now all I need to lose to be at my final end goal is 100lbs that's it :)

cannot wait to get this surgery and start a new life and a positive future!

I'm doing great with shakes and can tuna and Frozen veggies then some days ill have some blueberries and strawberries

With my Protein intake and very low carbs I'm finding that I'm not craving much at all so I'm happy just hope the restriction comes from surgery as well.

Anyways that's my latest news I've just gotta keep myself positive and committed until surgery then I'll figure it all out AFTER surgery in regards to taste buds and such.

Thanks again to everyone who has offered their kind words over the last 12 months of my journey!!

Good day.

Mikey

So great to hear you are doing well! You have such a great attitude and really taking care of yourself and setting yourself up for the best outcome. I really hope that this weight loss and improvement in health helps in maintaining the functionality of your kidneys too!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
