So, I am now 10 months post op RNY Gastric bypass. I have exactly one more pound until I am "normal" BMI! I am so excited! I saw my doctor recently when I was 125 lbs and he told me not to lose any more weight. After much discussion about how I really want to be a normal BMI and it was only 2 more pounds he agreed it was ok to do. I'm sure this last pound is going to be the hardest one to lose! According to my doctor I have lost 93% of my excess wt. I wonder if I can actually make it to the "ideal" wt they gave me, 117 lbs. My doctor said he doesn't expect me to go that low. Hmmmm....sounds like a challenge!

LOVE IT! You sound so much like me! If your ideal weight is 123 then 117 would be a good range to go to for maintenance. This way you can catch yourself and get back on track when you are getting close to 125! YOU GOT THIS & CONGRATS on a job well done love : )

Yay!! I won't congratulate you until you hit that 1lb goal. Then better watch out!! You are DOING this thing!!!!

LOL! And I totes know about the whole hitting "Ideal" or 100% EBW lost. I SOOOOO wanted that super duper top secret. But my surgeon about had a mild cow yesterday when she saw me for me 18month and told me not to lose any more...but then I said, "But my Goal 3 weight milestone is important and only 5lbs away..."

Ahhhh...insanity. :D

@FluffyChix once I hit the 123 lb goal it seems doable to lose 6 more before I see my doctor in 6 months! We'll see. I haven't been that low in probably 40 yrs but it would still give me a BMI of 23...perfectly healthy. Oh, by the way, I was 123.9 on my scale this morning...after using the bathroom and naked! Now I gotta get there with clothes on!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
