my trainer left me. i am devastatedddd.

My trainer has been my rock the last several months. He is more than my trainer, he is my therapist. He is the best damn therapist I have ever had in my life. He is the ONLY support system I have "in real life" and I talk to him about EVERYTHING. He is so knowledgeable and motivating and inspiring and he means more to me than nearly anything. Not trying to be dramatic - it's just true, lol.

Anyways, he told me today he accepted a job in the evenings and can no longer train me. There is no other time whatsoever that mutually works for both of us given our work schedules. I AM CRUSHED. I don't WANT another trainer. Yes, I will be saving A LOT of money, but I am scared to go at this alone. I am having my plastics in November and was looking forward to him helping me pick up where I left off after I am cleared for the gym again. I am going to miss him SO MUCH. I hired a trainer in the first place because I knew I had to pay someone to get my ass to go. It just happens I got the most awesome human being on the face of this planet. Now I love the gym and classes and I have to learn to be my own motivator and get excited for myself when I succeed... something I've never been so good at.

I am super crushed. ;( I've gone through the 5 stages of grief in the last four hours and legit sobbed in the bathroom at work and I am probably going to burst into tears when I see him later tonight since this is our last week together.

I have worked out a whole new gym schedule to keep me on track, and now I will have money to take more yoga which I love. I am trying to look at the positives and take away all he's taught me. But I am so so sad about this. :(

The perfect trainer is so hard to find. I’m so sorry.

I’ve found they are like good hair stylists—you find one you love and when they move on it’s like the worst breakup ever!

I’ve been through this a few times🙁. I asked mine for a workout plan that I can stick to (I know it’s not the same) and do it. He/she will be so proud of your successes. Ask for their email to keep in touch and send progress emails/photos.

You CAN survive on your own (it’s just not as fun). Don’t let this derail you or your progress.

I saw him yesterday and yes I WEPPPTTT in the gym. He gave me a 45 minute talk about how there is no way I will fail at this without him and how I know exactly what to do and that I have too much determination to fail, etc etc. I still wepppptttt. And then I cried AGAIN after our session. LOL. I feel like a crazy person.

And I also found out that he will actually be back in four months. LOL. So he isn't gone FOREVER. But I will still miss him so much. He is my rock. I could actually cry even while typing this, I am so emotional over it. It is like a breakup except I actually care about the person and they're not an a*****e ex boyfriend. I know I am being a bit overdramatic in light of the fact he is allegedly coming back probably around December, but still man.

Thursday is our last day and I am going to be even more of a wreck.

Tough transition that’s really lousy. Trainers should sign up to be trainers for our entire life!!

I do not think you are over reacting at all! I have lost two trainers. The first got sick and died *brain cancer. I was devastated for his family and for myself and all the people he had helped. I could not find another to replace him and, in six months I found I had gained weight and did not feel strong.

I found another one, eventually. Again, he became my mentor and my cheerleader. He decided to go back to Uni to get a degree in Physical therapy. I was so sad, but he did something for me. He talked to me about what I liked best about himself and my first trainer. He asked what I need from a trainer. He then talked to one of his coworkers and made a match! I asked for someone who would provide tough love, not accept my excuses, believe in me, cheer my success and they must have a good sense of humor. Mandy, is fantastic. Actually, just what I needed. She is a young woman who is a Mom of three kids. We just clicked!

So, can you ask your trainer to recommend someone to fill in while he is gone? He knows you. He knows what you need.

Good luck! PS: I need a personal trainer at this point in my life and probably, for ever. In the past I switched to small group training and that was great too. I just need a commitment to show up somewhere!

I agree with "ValerieninMexico" find someone else. Don't get caught up in the person. This is your life. Do you have any healthy people around you?

Good trainers are like anyother service providers? There is always someone else who is great willing to work with you. Additionally, some willing to take your money.

Most service providers are temporarily or seasonal. Love yourself.

So, my gym ONLY had him as a trainer. He still works - but only in mornings. They are supposedly hiring two more at some point. But, I am having my skin removal surgery in November which will put me out of commission for a minimum of 8 weeks, and they require a 3 month commitment contract so I don't have time between when the new hires get on and my surgery to sign a 3 month contract. So, at this point, I am going to wait until February and by then my trainer SHOULD be back with an evening schedule. I am actually off work this coming Monday and managed to get in a morning appointment with him. I am going to whine a lot about his abandonment. lolol.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
