Has anyone gained the weight back?

Congrats on your baby!

So the first thing I would do is go see your original surgeon and talk to them. Find out your options and see if she will order tests to try to dx if you have a tool problem. I don't see any of your profile information. So it's really hard to offer constructive thoughts?

Welcome back.

good idea the above poster had on checking with your surgeon. Your tool will still work - you'll probably need to go back to basics to get things moving again (not all the way back to a liquid diet - that's not really sustainable - but eat Protein first, then non-starchy veggies, then, if you have room, a small fruit or small "healthy" carb serving (e.g., whole grain things, oatmeal). From what I understand, the weight loss will be much slower than it was the first time around, but you can lose it as long as you stick to your program.

Congratulations on your new baby! Have you tried going back to your original post-op diet?

I dont think its actually working as my absorption seems to be back to normal. I watch what I eat and I'm still gaining weight

I'd love to have a baby but I'm afraid I won't be able to "eat for two". Can you PM me? I need to talk to someone who has been there, to guide me through there...

Eating for 2 is a myth. Concentrate on losing your weight first then have a baby. All you have to do is "eat correctly to nourish you." The baby will get its nutrition with or without your help. It will take from your body. And most of us have enough nutrient stores in our bodies to nourish a child.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
