How often do you have Post-Op appointments?

Recommended Posts

In what intervals and how many post-op appointments do most people have? It's the one thing I don't know about my surgeon. Just wondering. Thanks!

It probably varies. I saw my surgeon two weeks after surgery. I just saw the PA at the two month mark. My next appt. is at six months.

I saw the surgeon at 3 weeks, 3 months, and I'll see her again at 9 months. I saw the nutritionist at 3 months.

I had 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, and a 12 month in November. Then either annual or maybe an 18 month? Unsure. But I saw them a LOT in the first 3 months from complications.

I think my first one was at two or three weeks out, then every three months for the first year. Now I just go annually.

My insurance covers 90 days after surgery no co-pay. My first was 2 weeks then I will go two more times then 6 months and one year. I don't remember the time frame thereafter. I will see my PCP in September.

My surgery date was 4/29/19.

Doctor at 2 weeks.

Doctor and NUT at 1 month (it might have been 6 weeks?), 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year and once a year every year after that. I also had a couple very long visit-like telephone calls because I was having some complications.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
