I’m still undecided on which to choose! The option of a Sleeve and Bypass was given to me. I’m leaning towards the Bypass because I’m anxious to get rid of the fat fast! But... is fast really a good thing? Uuughhh I need advice!

You could search sleeve vs bypass. There are lots of posts on this topic. , and you'll get lots of good advice. I picked bypass because I have GERD and also wanted the possible dumping to keep me in line. Best wishes to you.

I was going to suggest the same thing - just do as much research as you can. They're both good surgeries, and I've known people who've been very successful with both. I chose bypass because I had GERD pre-surgery, and I didn't want to risk it getting worse (sleeve can cause - or increase - GERD in some people, but not all. But I didn't want to take the risk). If it hadn't been for the GERD, I'm not sure which one I would have picked. I'm sure I would have been happy with either.

It's talked about a lot here on this forum. Check out the posts of people who've had each and the pros and cons of each. It's a personal decision that's up to you. I chose sleeve and I'm happy with it.

I have had both. For me, I was determined to do the sleeve despite my surgeon saying that Bypass is the Cadillac of surgeries. I thought that RNY just seemed so... final. I wasn't ready to commit. So I had the sleeve and I can tell you that for ME, I woke up from surgery hungry and I stayed hungry. Then had a complication, but that's neither here nor there when it comes to choosing my surgery.

forward to this February and I had RNY. Sooooo much better (for ME). I wasn't hungry. I now feel restriction where I didn't before. I don't feel weird or that different, except that I feel like my tool is working for me now.

Good luck with choosing! Maybe just think about your reasons for wanting one over the other and analyse that.

Overall the bypass rny is the best for many reasons you can find on here but it is up top the individual. Good Luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
