Just an update. Went to my one year on Thursday. I was 271 lbs. I am almost to my vanity goal.

Most amazing was my body fat % had went from 44% to 17% in a year.

Even better, this time a year ago I took 9 pills a day for issues related to weight. Today, I take zero. Nada.

Amazing journey. I wish everyone that wants to start it the best. If you invest into it heavily you will have wonderful results!

Congrats on the loss. I'm 6'3" and before my surgery date I was at 454. Then I went down to 432 after the 2 week presurgery diet. 7 weeks after surgery I'm down to 388. After seeing your one year anniversary pics, it certainly has made me reassured the pounds will come off with hard work, like I've been doing myself this whole time. Thanks for sharing!

Here is a recent photo at 13.5 months out. All of the working out is starting to pay off. I was telling my wife (who has been telling me this for months now) that I can finally tell how muscular I am getting in photos. It is really amazing considering the blob I had become after a decade of inactivity.

Wow, man, your transformation is amazing! It gives me (pre-op) hope that this is the right direction. Also, as a short guy it never occurred to me my fat would make me shorter (duh, it makes sense). I thought I was losing it since I was an inch shorter at last measure than I was in high school. I really hope I gain some height too!
Congrats on all that hard work paying off.

Good luck on your journey and if you need any help on what to eat, how much and any exercise programs just let me know. Since we have similar starting stats I probably have more to share with you than the average person on here since you will no doubt be eating more Protein and calories earlier on than the rest of the folks having the surgery to avoid stalls.

Incredible! Kudos to you! I log everything i eat too. I am almost 6 months out and try to workout 4-5 times a week (cardio and weights) and eat really well, still no caffeine, booze, starches, or added sugar when I can, but I tend to overdo it on stuff like cool whip believe it or not. And coconut flour or Protein Powder mug cakes. But Im still 25 lbs from my vanity goal and you have motivated me- thank you!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
