I am had my surgery on 4/11, and just had my one week check up and I’m down only 6lbs. I’m feeling a bit disappointed, I was hoping for more. :-( Is this normal?

Yes, normal. That's almost a pound a day! When have you been able to lose 6 pounds in a week before? ;-) keep up the good work! And don't be discouraged.

Totally normal, especially when you consider that you were pumped full of fluids in hospital. Your body is in shock from the surgery. Be kind to yourself! Give your body time to heal.

Totally normal! I came home 12 lbs heavier and the scale barely budged the first two weeks. I freaked out !! But once the swelling went down and my body started to heal everything changed . It’s so hard NOT to fixate on the scale but in hindsight I wish I had just stayed off the dang thing. Good luck with your healing and journey 👍🏻

yes normal, you gained Water weight at the hospital from the IVs. No worries, you'll be now losing weight. Don't get discouraged in 3 weeks, when you experience your first stall. It's totally normal as well. :-) Good Luck.

You are doing great! Everyone is different in this process. I lost 13 lbs in my first week but stalled the following weeks. I had to stop weighing myself and comparing myself to others progress. I was really getting discouraged. Then at my 8 week check up I found out I had lost 52 lbs since surgery. It blew my mind. Follow the process and you will see (YOUR) results. You are doing fantastic!!!!

I am one week out today. I’ve lost 5 pounds and 8.5 inches. Consider measuring yourself because scales are not the only indication of success. Find non-scale victories to help remind you that you are successful. Almost a pound a day is amazing. Think about your highest weight, pre-op diet weight, surgery day weight to now. Proud of you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
