Nice to meet you! My surgery is this coming wednesday, 4 days away. I'm somewhat anxious and definitely excited. My close friend is having weight loss surgery the same day, same hospital, and same doctor as me, so we've been able to keep each other sane.

Did anyone not lose that much weight during their preop diet?

I’m on day 5 of 10 of a 5 shakes/day diet and I’ve only lost 4.6 lb! I have my pre op testing tomorrow and am worried what they’ll say, esp. b/c people here seem to lose 10-15 lb (or more!) in the typical 2 weeks 😱

Part of me is a bit disappointed too, b/c a bigger loss pre op seems like a good kickstart to the whole process?

Sorry tough are frustrated. Have you added exercise? My pre-op required 30 minutes of walking a day. Maybe that would help?

Yes! Thanks for starting this! I am married mother of 2 grown daughters, 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 1 grand baby on the way. I lost my Mom and Grandma last year. I decided to have surgery to try to be the best version of me I can be and enjoy healthy life for as long as I can with my family. I had sleeve done on June 4. I am 5’4” and was 214 going into surgery. I’m really looking forward to meeting some people enduring this challenging journey all at the same time.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
