Recommended Posts

Hi Guys!

Can any of you share your experience from getting sleeved at a lower weight? My Surgery is May4th and I am nervous and am wondering if I will even lose. Can someone please tell me their experience? How were their losses? How long did it take to lose? Where are you now?

I was sleeved on March 27. My BMI was 35. Since surgery I have lost over 20 pounds. I was surprised how quick the weight came off I assumed at a lower BMI the weight would fall off slowly. Still on liquid diet. I was prepared to lose about 2 pounds a week. But it’s been over 20 pounds and I am not two week out from surgery.

Hi! I had the sleeve at a lower weight. I'm 5'4" and my highest weight was 233. When I started my preop liquid diet I was 216. Weight was 202 on surgery day - Aug 6 last year. I steadily lost around 10 pounds a month and currently weigh 132 pounds. Went from a size 18 to size 6. Surgery was a great success for me. I was one of the lucky ones that never had any problem tolerating any foods, no heartburn.

I was sleeved 27 September last year at 224 pounds and I'm now 156. It is slow and steady, I lose a pound then stay the same for several days, lose for a few days in a row then stay the same for a week. But is still regularly dropping, I'm 5'4 and looking to get around 140. I'm really happy with 68 pounds in 6.5 months 😁 I exercise a fair bit, so have had to learn how to fuel my body, if I burn as much as I eat my weight loss stalls, and after a really heavy lifting day I will 'gain' but it is Water weight from inflammation and settles in a couple of days. I fly a lot for work and this seems to make me hold water too so have have a good 'loss' once I've been home a couple of days.

All the best, this is the best thing I've ever done, I'm glad I did it before I got any bigger as my weight was really stopping me living my best life 😊

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
