So I switched up diet today, your thoughts:

9am - coffee with vanilla soy milk

12:30 - Protein Shake

1:30 - 3 small meat balls and small portion of salad

2:30 - frozen ice lolly

5pm - hard boiled egg

7pm - minestrone Soup with Beans

8:30pm - piece of cheese

I am so hungry throughout the day though, my hunger is back.

this looks a lot better. I'm not sure about the amounts or else I'd figure out the calories, but maybe you were a bit light (for you, that is)? Just trying to figure out the hunger part of it.

That's great you have tried some other things! However, personally I would skip the shake and the Soup - both are sliders and my surgeon and nutritionist say not to have these after 6 weeks. I bet if you replaced them with some dense Protein, you'd feel fuller for longer. Also, instead of just having just a boiled egg, maybe bulk it out and make scrambled egg (add in extra egg white) with a bit of cheese and some vegetables on the side or a small salad. Instead of the soup, make the Beans into a chili type dish. Add in vegetables, some soy or meat if you eat it, a sprinkle of cheese on top. Have half to one cup of it and see how it feels. It's all about getting creative and trying to fill yourself up with good filling Proteins. It'll stabalise your blood sugars and make you feel satiated.

OP, I can share with you what my typical day is: This is during the work week (weekends vary much more)

8AM - Greek yogurt

10AM - Beef/chicken Jerky

12PM - BariatricPal Lite Entree (the vegan chicken curry is my jam) or 6 small meatballs w/ cauliflower tots or 1 cup cottage cheese w/ fruit (this is standard lunch like virtually every day unless I go out to a restaurant)

2PM - TwinPeaks Protein Puffs or Kay's Protein Puffs (occasionally I will have a piece of fruit like a kiwi)

5PM - 5-6oz protein (beef/turkey typically) w/ portion of veggies (mashed cauliflower, green Beans, cooked carrots, etc)

And sometimes a diet ice cream bar in the evening (yay Breyer's carb smart... soooo gooood).

When I go out, I get salads that have protein in them (chicken or shrimp usually) or burgers without the bun.

I am 5 1/2 months out. Trainer and nutrition are super happy with this regimen and I rarely get above 60g of carbs a day. I am always over 70g of protein and don't need to rely on shakes anymore to get there. This is about 700 calories total, depending on what I have for dinner. Even though it's not a ton of calories, I feel full because everything is dense or high protein. Take advantage of the high protein options out there, even the ones offered through this website. I've found some really tasty things. The TwinPeaks puffs (off Amazon) are VERY FILLING (21g protein in a single cup and only 3g carbs).

Yesterday on the weekend I basically only ate veggies and shrimp and steak and didn't pass 30g of carbs, but still hit like 900 calories because of the steak. Very filling and low carb. I usually have an egg with a slice of cheese melted on it for Breakfast on the weekends or cottage cheese. They also now have egg white "crepes" stuffed with guac at Walmart which I am excited to try.

FancyChristine15 perhaps my diet was misunderstood. I am not eating pretzels all day and asking why am I gaining weight, lol.
Porridge for brunch and rixe cracker or tune or meat ball, what I dont understand is how i can fit it all in. Isn't my pouch suppose to restrict me?and why am i starving?? If I was able to eat only 3 meals a day then I would not have had the surgery to begin with. I am starving all day, why?

Because you are eating a lot of slider foods. You will not feel the restriction as much when eating liquid-y food and fruits containing lots of Water. Eat more dense Proteins and the restriction will come back and you will not feel as hungry.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
