I'M SO MAD AT MY PRIM CARE PHYS!!!!!!!!!!!--trying to prevent nausea

Recommended Posts

haha, lindata, the stomach thing must be an arkansas thing!!!!...lol

i understand my doctor's rationale, completely, and i would agree that i was more annoyed than actually mad. if i do throw up over the weekend, i will go to the ER. but, my neurologist prescribes phenergan like no tomorrow. too bad she's closed today.

My Pcp prescribes me 90 tablets of Phenegran every 3 months for just in case times. I've never ever had any trouble and if I run out I just call him and he calls it in for me.

Have you been on the meds before bandster?

My band doctor will call things in for me if I need him to. PCP won't call things in. Gyno will (if I tell her I've taken them before, or if she's prescribed them herself to me in the past).

It might be they don't know how you'll react to it, and for example what if the anti-nausea meds cause your blood pressure to rise. If you came to see them, they'd know your blood pressure was high (just an example), and would know not to give you that med, but maybe an alternative, and so on.

So it's hard for them to just prescribe on the phone. Though I try as often as I can, my insurance doesn't pay for me to show up at some of my doctors just for fun :)

My doctors told me it was fine if i threw up when I was sick. They just dont want you throwing up excessively. I called about that also when I had the flu and thats what they told me.

There are some good over the counter choices such as Mylanta which really seems to help my nausea. Ginger tea also works well. I hope you don't get the virus.

thank you for all of your posts. so far so good. unfortunately it appears that my son was not contagious, or if he was it is something that his father and i have already had. lol. i say unfortunately, because he keeps having weird stuff happen, and it really worries me sometimes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
